三位來自法國(guó)獨(dú)立音樂圈的知名樂手,帶著無止境的好奇心和"自己動(dòng)手"的創(chuàng)作態(tài)度,共同組成了Meule. 他們把車庫(kù)、電子和迷幻搖滾擰成一股原始又上頭的聲音浪潮。樂隊(duì)的陣容很特別:Valentin Pedler 負(fù)責(zé)吉他和合成器,Marine Flèche 和 Dorris Biayenda 則各自坐鎮(zhèn)一套鼓,兩套鼓面對(duì)面"對(duì)轟",你來我往,節(jié)奏碰撞出一種極具爆發(fā)力的張力。

Somewhere between machine and human, this modular vessel—set between two competing drum kits—propels looping music where trance emerges through turns, accelerations, cries from the heart, and melodic breathing.
Meule thus invites you into an instinctive, collective, almost animal dance—one you enter without thinking, as a simple passenger on a jubilant space trip.

2022年,Meule 先后亮相 Printemps de Bourges 的 Inouis 單元和 Trans Musicales deRennes. 正是在Rennes, 他們被美國(guó)西雅圖知名電臺(tái)KEXP相中,錄制了一期現(xiàn)場(chǎng),目前在 YouTube 播放量接近20萬。此后,樂隊(duì)完成了橫跨歐洲、加拿大和韓國(guó)的巡演。高強(qiáng)度巡演結(jié)束后,Marine正式加入(原鼓手 Léo Kapes 離隊(duì)),樂隊(duì)回到 Valentin 的鄉(xiāng)下老家沉淀寫歌。
In 2022, Meule took part in the Inouïs du Printemps de Bourges before playing the Trans Musicales de Rennes in December of the same year, where they were spotted by the ultra-stylish Seattle radio station KEXP, for whom they recorded a session that is now approaching 200,000 views. This success allowed them to tour widely across Europe, as well as in Canada and South Korea. At the end of this intense tour, Dorris and Valentin were joined by Marine following the departure of Léo Kapes. The group then retreated to the countryside at Valentin’s place with the desire to push the boundaries of their influences.

Meule 就像是 Kraftwerk(德國(guó)電子樂教父,用機(jī)器造就音樂史)和 King Gizzard & TheLizard Wizard(澳洲迷幻搖滾怪才,以高產(chǎn)、多變和失控的現(xiàn)場(chǎng)著稱)碰到了一起,把車庫(kù)搖滾和電子樂、精密編排和人的不完美全攪合在一起。吉他和鼓直面一整面模塊合成器墻,在狂野和細(xì)膩交替的迷醉感里合為一體,這就是他們的標(biāo)志性聲音。
新曲《Entre deux》就是一個(gè)例子:Marine 用人聲唱出屏幕時(shí)代里人際關(guān)系的復(fù)雜,讓Meule在搖滾的硬朗里多了一層溫柔的觸感。
From the psychedelic garage rock of Osees or King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard—the trio’s ultimate reference—Meule expanded its sonic palette to include more electro and techno elements, and at times pop and melodic touches, as on “Entre deux,” where Marine’s voice reflects on relationships in the age of screens. A track where Meule aims to bring a touch of softness to the vigor of rock.

整張《Dare》是一次迷人的聲音探險(xiǎn),玩轉(zhuǎn)各種風(fēng)格與形式。壓軸曲《Microtonal》用上了東方音階,邀來在 Tours 長(zhǎng)大的英國(guó)說唱歌手 Miscellaneous (Chill Bump成員之一),共同直面仍在持續(xù)的加沙悲劇。收尾曲里,你能聽到那位討喜的歌手兼薩克斯手 NotSure, 像個(gè)溫柔的引路人,用迷人的低音緩緩吟唱。"我們的工作方式就像實(shí)驗(yàn)室技術(shù)員,不停拋出新想法,把它們改造變形,跟意外周旋,看看最后能做出什么東西。每一個(gè)細(xì)節(jié)都是親手做出來的。"
Throughout Dare, Meule leads us through a fascinating sonic exploration that plays with formats and codes. The journey ends with “Microtonal,” drawing on Eastern scales and welcoming Miscellaneous, the English-born rapper from Tours and half of Chill Bump, to evoke the ongoing tragedy in Gaza. Finally, on the last track, we find the endearing singer and saxophonist Not Sure, cast as a benevolent guru with a captivating low voice. “We try to approach things like lab technicians—always bringing in ideas, distorting them, playing with accidents, and seeing what happens. It’s really handcrafted.”
