聲廠SoundFact非常榮幸地宣布，繼今年夏天的black midi中國(guó)巡演大獲成功之后，我們?cè)俅窝?qǐng)到另一支在世界范圍內(nèi)極具號(hào)召力的前衛(wèi)器樂(lè)團(tuán)體——GoGo Penguin，于2024年1月底開(kāi)啟上海、北京雙城巡演。這既是GoGo Penguin初次來(lái)到中國(guó)，也將是聲廠在2024年奉上的首個(gè)開(kāi)年巨獻(xiàn)。
SoundFact proudly announces that, following the breathtaking black midi China tour back in summer, we are now thrilled to present the globally renowned avant-garde, cinematic break-beat trio GoGo Penguin China tour! The band will be performing in Shanghai and Beijing at the end of January 2024, marking their first visit to China and the first gift from SoundFact for the beginning of New Year.
GoGo Penguin組建于英國(guó)曼徹斯特，樂(lè)隊(duì)成員包括鋼琴師Chris Illingworth、低音貝斯手Nick Blacka，以及在2021年頂替前鼓手加入的Jon Scott。盡管始終保持著三重奏的簡(jiǎn)單編制，但他們做出的音樂(lè)卻如海納百川，在打破傳統(tǒng)爵士邊界的基礎(chǔ)上，廣泛運(yùn)用電子元素，以干凈的音色和細(xì)碎的節(jié)拍，將包括Trip-Hop、Neo Classical、Minimalist、Rock等多種元素共冶一爐，并賦予其新的靈魂。他們因此被譽(yù)為“爵士樂(lè)界的Radiohead”，也常被拿來(lái)與Aphex Twin、Four Tet、Brian Eno等加以類(lèi)比。
Hailing from Manchester in the UK, acoustic-electronica trio GoGo Penguin are pianist Chris Illingworth, bassist Nick Blacka and welcomed new drummer Jon Scott. Despite maintaining a simple trio setup, their music is diverse, breaking traditional jazz boundaries by incorporating electronics and creating a fusion of trip-hop, neo classical, minimalist, rock, and more. Apart from being dubbed "Radiohead of British Jazz", GoGo Penguin is also compared to artists like Aphex Twin, Four Tet, and Brian Eno due to their innovative approach.

During the past decade, GoGo Penguin have released six studio albums, among which ‘v2.0’ received a surprise nomination for the Mercury Music Prize, propelling them to the forefront of the new jazz wave sweeping across Europe. Their live performances, enriched with improvisation, offer a unique, free-flowing experience that is distinct from their studio recordings. GoGo Penguin's touring footprint spans across Europe, reaching cities in North America, Oceania, and Asia. Whether performing at livehouses, theaters, or major outdoor festivals like Fuji Rock and North Sea Jazz, their tickets always sell out fast. Meticulously crafted stage presentations deliver a dual sensory experience, leaving audiences visually and aurally inspired.
目前，GoGo Penguin正在展開(kāi)新專(zhuān)輯世界巡演，其亞洲站包括已確定的上海、北京、東京、名古屋、大阪等站次，面對(duì)初次見(jiàn)面的中國(guó)樂(lè)迷，樂(lè)隊(duì)將呈現(xiàn)新作及過(guò)去十年的代表作品。新專(zhuān)輯《Everything Is Going To Be OK》誕生于一個(gè)充滿動(dòng)蕩和失落的生命階段，在這一特殊的低谷時(shí)期，音樂(lè)創(chuàng)作為樂(lè)隊(duì)提供了遠(yuǎn)離現(xiàn)實(shí)的庇護(hù)所，給予他們面對(duì)失去和分離的勇氣，也傳遞著從崩塌中重塑的信念：一切都會(huì)好起來(lái)的。
GoGo Penguin is currently on a world tour for their new album, hitting Asian cities like Shanghai, Beijing, Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka. In their first meeting with Chinese fans, the band will showcase tracks from the new album and highlights from the past decade. The latest album, 'Everything Is Going To Be OK', emerged from a period with turbulence and sufferings, offering the band solace and courage to face challenges. The album conveys a belief in resilience - that everything will eventually be okay, even in the face of collapse.
